Day three back from an awesome break, and I am busy as always? before I get into that, let me rewind for a second for some updates about going home.
First off, if you are ever planning on flying back from college, it would be a good idea to look into flights ASAP. The longer you wait, the more booked and expensive they get. The planes I flew on were also very small? get ready for some uncomfortably close plane rides.
Being home is always good for the first couple of weeks as I catch up with friends and family, but I?ll be honest? it can get pretty boring. Now that I am used to being at college, where I am constantly busy and always surrounded by people, wether I lived in the dorm or my sorority house, it is weird going back and having to actively make plans to see friends. It also creates somewhat of a barrier going to college so far from home. My friends don?t necessarily understand what my life is like in Montana, and so it almost feels like I?m living split lives! I know the same is true for a few of my friends that go to school closer by. They say your college friends will be your best friends, and I am starting to realize how true this is. A lot can happen in a semester, college sets the foundation for much closer relationships.
Now, about being back in Montana.
I realized that I need a change in major once again. As I?ve said before.. You should never feel bad about being undecided or changing your major!! On that note, though, you also have to be realistic about when you are going to graduate depending on what classes you?ve taken. I got all my core classes done my first year so they would count towards all majors, and have been lucky enough to switch majors all under the same department, health and human development, so that most of my classes work for a number of majors. I have switched from Community health, to double majoring in Family and Consumer Sciences and Early Childhood Education and Child Services. I think that this will provide me with more opportunities after college, along the lines of what I would like to do. Do you have ideas of where your interests and passions lie? What kinds of classes you would like to take? This can help you choose a major you feel good about.
That?s all for now, folks, I don?t want to overwhelm with too much writing. I?ll talk about my classes and all of that next week. By the way, it is COLD outside, the coldest I have felt yet. I don?t think it has stopped snowing for even a minute since this morning?
