Community Day School seeks a Director of Strategic Outreach and Communications to increase awareness, understanding, and support of Community Day School?s vision, mission, and accomplishments among its many constituencies including current and prospective families, current and prospective staff, funders, and the larger community.

The effective Director of Strategic Outreach and Communications will play a key role in enabling CDS to reach its goals of being fully enrolled, fully funded, and the first choice for Pittsburgh?s Jewish families.
?
The Director of Strategic Outreach and Communications reports directly to the Head of School and as part of the leadership team will oversee and be accountable for the Communications, Fundraising, and Admission functions of the school.

- Strong leadership skills to direct the admission, fundraising, and communications processes of the school.
- A self-starter with a proven track record of creating and implementing strategic initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to develop strategic communications and marketing plans
- Strong creative, strategic, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Exemplary written and oral communication skills
- Experience developing and producing internal and external communications materials and publications
- Ability to determine appropriate use of a variety of digital and print media vehicles
- Ability to prioritize, establish goals, and demonstrate quantifiable results
- Excellent organizational and project management skills; attention to detail; proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong, effective, high-energy team player with a can-do attitude
- Ability to develop strong relationships with administration and staff
- Experience managing budgets and timelines
- Ability to thoroughly understand and support the School?s mission and purpose

As an enthusiastic member of our leadership team, he or she will:
- Lead the school?s communications, fundraising, and admission divisions with the goals of enhancing/communicating/marketing the school's reputation, increasing the applicant and re-enrollment streams, and positively impacting fundraising efforts.
- Set and achieve fundraising and enrollment goals in conjunction with fundraising and admission departments.
- Develop the value proposition and the strategy for communicating it to all constituencies.
- Create and implement a master plan coordinating all messaging emanating from or about the school in conjunction with the stated goals and objectives of the Community Day School Strategic Plan.
- Identify and integrate new methods of outreach with traditional ones as needed for maximum positive presence.
- Develop professional standards for communications from all departments to express and reinforce the agreed upon voice, message, and purposes of the school.?
- Develop metrics to determine the effectiveness of outreach and communications efforts.
- Plan and employ a proactive PR approach to ensure that CDS is seen as a positive contributor to the Jewish and Pittsburgh education community.
- Develop and institutionalize internal marketing sensitivities to both current families and current staff, anticipating, planning for, and following up with affected parties in diplomatic and proactive ways.

Specific Responsibilities include the following:

- Employ a data-driven mindset to collecting, analyzing, and utilizing data to alter and improve schoolwide strategies and approaches pertaining to outreach.
? - Provide effective leadership and direct and coordinate the efforts of all the outreach arms of the school with supervisory responsibility and accountability for admission, fundraising, and communications.
? - Create and implement a master plan for broadcasting and promoting the image of the school to current and prospective families, current and prospective staff, and current and prospective supporters, including students!
? - Equip the education division with the tools, systems, and support to effectively communicate the depth and quality of the educational product to current families and to prospective families and current and prospective supporters.
? - Optimize, in conjunction with the Technology Director, the school?s website to enhance communications and promote a strong sense of community among all stakeholders, attract new students, inspire funding, and raise the public profile of the School.
? - Establish and maintain positive working relationships within the CDS professional and volunteer community to ensure that all staff members and volunteers utilize proper communication strategies, that messaging is aligned, and that opportunities to promote CDS are shared.
? - Oversee the school?s social media presence and strategy.
? - Serve, together with the Head of School, as the school?s primary media spokesperson; advise/coach other designated spokespeople for media interviews
